I seriously had to think about it this morning: Is it really 2014? I paused to double check the date when writing the rent check this morning. 2013 just flew by. But that's okay, because my beginning to 2013 was kinda shit-tastic. I went through some heavy awful personal upheavals. So my 2013 was all about kind of finding my happiness again and getting back on my feet and learning how to me again. And I did it. I am happy again. So this weekend was ACEN in Chicago. It was a freaking blast!!!!! Before this, I had never been to a convention of any sorts, let alone something geeky and fun. I went to conferences but usually only for work or school. So this was completely a new experience. I always saw myself as a pretty nerdy/geeky person because in comparison to my friends, I am. However, once I got to ACEN, I realized 1.) I'm not an uber nerd, but am indeed a nerd and 2.) These are my people!
